Where is Our Mermaid?!?!

*Taps mic* Is this thing on? Oh hey!! It's been a while, I know. We got a lot of catching up to do as well.

First things first, Welcome back to the site!! Or maybe welcome to my first timers. It has been almost a year since my last blog. A lot has changed, being the first that I'm back in the United States! *YAY!* Also there has been many changes in the my life, career, beer journey, along with the ever changing beer industry. Now am I going tackle every single thing in this blog?? No, that will be my goal to myself to breakdown everything that made and broke me leading up to this point though. Now can I give you everything along with updating you on the current state of everything between now and the end of the year? Why yes I can. So let's get started shall we!!

I got my dream job!!

As soon as I got home, the first thing I did was go into "Mom Mode". I loved on my baby girl and my puppy dog. I spent a good week just letting only a few people know I was home so I could get the most time with them. However, that honeymoon phase didn't last long. I had to get back to providing for them and back to my passion. I went to Montgomery, AL, to visit my old job, along with visiting some great colleagues. While doing that I got offered two brewing positions. *gasps and falls to the floor* I took one and now I am the head brewer of Railyard Brewing Company.

 I Beer-traveled ALOT

After spending much needed time with my babies. I also had to get back in the beer scene and play "catch up". What to know what I did? I hit the ground running, literally! I went the Tampa Bay Beer Week, and  FemAle Brewfest to name a few. I went on brewery tours and even revisited a breweries. I went to Barbados and saw the Banks Brewery which was AMAZING.  I met so amazing people in the beer industry and was able to share my knowledge as well as grow from others.

Life Happened

Your Mermaid been through some stuff these past few months since being home. Everything from surgeries to car wrecks, even good things but all is life. I had to get back to full-time single mom life. Along with adjusting to my new position, I had to balance being a mom, and dog mom again. I had to find my living situation, and figure out how to be back in the habit of having all of these hats on. I had to deal with a lot of different emotions in a short period of time.
